Naked News Anchors is an enigma to Sir Rodney. On one hand, what a concept! On the other hand, what are we missing? This Canadian site, which has been around for a few years and has attracted much media attention, features naked women presenting the news. So, now you can masturbate while watching the news, killing two birds with one stone, for those without enough hours in the day. It’s not porn, but we’d certainly classify it as softcore adult entertainment. Since Sir Rodney’s interests lie mostly in the hardcore realm, maybe that’s why we didn’t get it, or get off for that matter.
Imagine that there was a cable news channel called the Naked News and that faux coeds reported on the latest on the latest video games, sports, celebrity news, etc. All “reporting" is done by somewhat attractive, but not gorgeous, female anchors or presenters either completely nude or doing a strip tease while delivering the report. Done in a style that combines the worst of "Hollywood Tonight" with reviews from CNET, this stuff makes The Jersey Shore seem like Masterpiece Theater. The subject matter is banal and the humor is so old that Milton Berle would blush. We found the interview of porn has-been, Ron Jeremy, to be incomprehensible.
If you think that all the above gave us a headache, it’s nothing compared to trying to overcome the mechanics of this site. Using the index, we found that fifty percent of searches called up "subject not found.” When something was found, it was not what we wanted. The downloads are best watched using Quicktime, a real pain in the butt for us, but great for iPhone users, which may be a bit of an indication that this site is geared toward a younger audience.
We give Naked News Anchors an A+ for novelty and a D for execution. The entertainment value is subjective, and since we’re far above the age of 22, it’s quite conceivable that we’re just missing something (maybe some nude pics of Barbara Walters would have cooled our curmudgeonly misgivings ;) Take a look at the tour page and free promotional video yourself to decide.
