Pornstar Classics is now the home of an important collection of 70s and 80s porn that no connoisseur can be without. The site boasts over 320 full vintage classics for download (these are 100-minute porn flicks) without any pesky limitations or licenses. That blows away any supposedly cheap pay-per-view site. Pornstar Classics is a much better deal, especially with its full access trial. Worth it, to own all the Ginger Lynn and Nina Hartley we just downloaded. Yow! Sir Rodney is embarrassed to say it, but he missed them. Now that we've have downloaded these lovelies, we'll never be apart again.
There is a site on the web, The Wayback Machine, that gives you delightful little trips back in history. For example, you can see Yahoo's home page from 1996. Astonishing, really. We got the same feeling perusing the wonderful movie offerings of "Porn Star Classics." Suddenly, our pants flared, the hair poofed, and "The Devil and Miss Jones" is showing in a Broadway theater. It's like being inside our favorite movie, "Boogie Nights." Ginger Lynn, Nina Hartley, Seka, and Christy Canyon romp with John Holmes, a skinny Ron Jeremy, and a babyfaced Peter North.
Despite the delightful nostalgia from the Golden Age of Porn (we don't really miss those guys in trenchcoats) let's not forget the movies were the product of a more innocent time. These are actual studio sets, and that that dreadful video lighting that makes everything look flat and stilted, like a demented soap opera. There is dialog, plot, setup, as if people need a reason to have sex, like pent-up desire, opportunity, drugs, or mental illness. The performances are just awful, and we always despised them, but after seeing so many thousands of fuck-and-suck scenes shot like nature films for the Discovery Channel, we're looking at this old fashioned approach in a new way. Silly, literal minded, the scenes are somewhat more respectful of the sex act itself. The close-ups of the talent are often sculpted with light, like someone cares about how these people look, and the male stars are more than an erection with legs. Getting LA'd (scene 5) which we've seen before, features Nina Hartley and Jerry Butler in an amazing foursome. The girls make love to each other while the guys fuck the tarnation out of them. The scene climaxes with the girls in a long sensual kissing session, over which both guys bust a nut across their kissing faces. Sir Rodney gets a hard-on just thinking about it.
The quality is great, when the source material is in good condition. Many of the titles have recently been re-released as ‘digitally remastered’ Golden Age of Porn series. We're not sure what this means, or if it matters. The webmaster, and the subscriber, are limited by what was originally shot, which is frankly all over the place, but for us this just added to the authenticity. As a rule, the 80s video stuff is much better quality than the film look of the 70s, much of which was transferred from film to video in a slapdash way, without niceties like color correction. The download speeds on Pornstar Classics, for the highest quality, were impressive: less than 10 minutes for a full 20-minute scene. Unfortunately, there are only a dozen poor-quality thumbnail (but NOT expandable) screen shots to preview the scenes before streaming or downloading. The site also provides a neat little download editor that allows users to choose a starting and ending frame for download, so you can save the all important money shot, or whatever pleases you, but not all the other chitchat and foreplay, and thereby download even faster.
In addition to the nearly 2,000 individual classic scenes from Pornstar Classics, members also get access to other classic porn sites like Caballero Classics, Busty Classics, Pleasure Classics as well as a huge modern dvd site, 899 Movies, from which you can download ‘til your heart (and your member) are content.
They are not making more pornstar clssics, but the webmasters seem to get their hands on new material every week. They must have a vault they are slowly digitizing and releasing. This is a clever strategy, which keeps happy subscribers renewing.
